i’m really going to start planning the redesign of my blog. i’ve said it before, but i’m going to really do it this time… i hope… it’s kinda pathetisad that a geek like me is still using the old mt default template.
ok, so we all have our little pleasures and addictions. i enjoy scotch (talisker is my fav, but i’m enjoying the glenlivet at the moment). i like cloves on occasion. m&ms. and coffee.
i hadn’t had a cup in a while – maybe a month. not that i gave it up, i just didn’t make any in the mornings – maybe laziness or subconscious health reasons… but today i brewed a pot and that cup of coffee was wonderful! yes, the simple things please me…
i was just watching pretty in pink (one of my favs) and realized there’s a scene where blane (andrew mccarthy) instant messages andie (molly ringwald) – not bad for ‘86! with images too! (don’t think i’ve ever used yahoo for flirting, though.)
anyway, i also just found out it’s going to be released on dvd tomorrow as well as some kind of wonderful… can’t buy me love is already out on dvd! (yup, i’m a sucker for those 80’s flicks!)
oh yeah, i was amazed to find out that midnight madness is out on dvd! thanks for that surprise, jen!
guess i’ll add those to my list of wanted items… (it’s a long list now…)
wow! i can’t believe it’s been two years since i bought my house. as i said last year, i love my house! (only problems… the weeds are being a bit pesky this year and the damn cat keeps marking her territory in the house! arg!)
this has got to be one of the funniest things i seen. i hate to just throw up a link without some real comments, but it’s just too funny. poor kid – at least he’ll get his 15 minutes of fame…
if you follow depeche mode at all, you’re probably aware that martin gore’s second solo project counterfeit2 is out now and dave gahan’s paper monsters comes out on june 3rd.
i’m still letting counterfeit2 sink in, but so far i like it. and i really dig the first single from paper monsters, “dirty sticky floors” – although it kinda reminds me of a new year’s party a few years ago at my buddy kevin’s apartment – not pretty… (in my defense i think i had food poisoning!)
ok, subculture only had like a four or five month run, but it sure was fun. danced a bit, drank some beers, met some cool people. guess we’re blaming it on the weather or something… maybe cincinnati week nights just can’t be fun… dunno… so don’t stop up to plush on thursdays for alt 80’s night anymore… we are going to try to maybe do it once a month or maybe do a 90’s night…
on the other hand, saturday’s art aches at plush was pretty successful again. and looks like it’ll be a regular thing the first satuday of the month. if you haven’t heard about art aches, it showcases works by more than 15 local artists — paintings, jewelry, sculpture, stained glass and more — all priced at $100 or less and enables young, emerging and established artists a venue for their work.
