bit torrent is a beautiful system. i had a similar idea while playing around with dc++ and shasta.

the idea is simple… many times multiple users have a file that i might need, so instead of connecting to a single peer that may go offline, slow down, etc., i connect to many peers and download bytes of the file. anyway, here’s the gory details - aka “protocol spec”.

note 2: i think i should switch to road runner (cable modem). i’ve tried to stay loyal to zoomtown (adsl), which has served me quite well, but i need more bandwidth!
